Originally when I thought up the brand KALIVER, two years ago, I only ever imagined producing swimwear.
We started off designing, sampling, printing, pattern-making, cutting, and making the bikinis, which over all took around 6 months to perfect the fit, and cut of each piece. By the time we were ready to sell the garments, we realized it was far too late to release KALIVER SWIM – THE FANTASY, because it would receive absolutely no press coverage.
So we held off releasing our swim for another 18 months, and worked on producing our first collection – THE COLLECTION AW14RTW, which was produced in 3 days.
The time came where we were allowed to begin shooting our swim look books. I have never been so excited, as I was the day we locked in the shoot.
We shot the campaign in the ocean baths at Collaroy, with my two favourite girls, during May 2014. We had the warm weather on our side, and the sun came out to meet us at 7am, everything was perfect.
We had a fairly large team; Pierre on the photos, Mark on the video, Phoenix Media with the drone, Lei on the Hair and Makeup, Hayley on the styling, Oceana and Jossie Sav as the beauty’s, and Sammy Lowe from Valere Jewellery with the jewels.
The day went better than expected, the girls looked beautiful, and their beauty was captured in all the right ways.
