I was adamant to not spend money on a location, and rather spending it on an awesome team of creativies that would help build the Kaliver brand.

We shot Airness the day before we were meant to launch our Optic collection into our flagship store. Timing has never been my strong suit. But this time pushing them together worked in our favour, because we need to re-merchandised the entire store, and to do that, everything needed to be pulled out, and put back in different hiding places… So having the store closed for a day, actually did help our cause.

On a location-budget; We shut the front door of our Kaliver Flagship store, we erected a drop (orange) roll of paper across the entire front window, no one could see what we were doing from the street, and our store was transformed into a studio.

We had all these incredibly grand ideas in place for the shoot, but none of which we followed through on. We are saving them for the next shoot.

We shot each look three times, one clean, with the orange background, one outside with a varying background, and one detail shot. The lookbook turned out beautifully, and it was all because of the selected team.

Michael my photographer capturers Kaliver like no other, Joel is an incredible makeup artist, and such a beautiful spirit, he can not only paint pretty faces, he is a talented wind-maker, and Emily our in-house stylist/graphic designer. The garments shot better than expected, when I was pattern-making this collection I wasn’t focused and it developed on it’s own… So I was scared to see if it would work as a story… and it did, beautifully.

Enjoy the BTS pics.
